- TCPalm News reports that Alex was interviewed by the school district on June 17 as part of their ongoing investigation. The school also plans to interview his former classmates.
- CBS 12 quotes the Barton's lawyer as saying they will not file a lawsuit if the district is able to resolve the matter satisfactorily. Melissa Barton is pushing to have Wendy Portillo fired and says she is seeking autism awareness and training for district employees.

ReplyDeleteThe school interviewing the other kids? For what purpose? One, they shouldn't be put on the spot, and two, some of them, knowing what a shitstorm it caused, won't tell the truth. There's no way of proving it was only 1-2? kids that voted against him. And so what if they did? Since when do a bunch of kids get to dictate how a teacher should handle problems in the class? Specially 5 year olds!
ReplyDeleteI have no personal ties to autism, just interest in general, and I just keep getting more upset.
Pretty decend of them not to want to sue.
It does seem silly to interview the kids but I bet it is part of the process. They could always bring up more things that have happened in the classroom.
