Cleaning Up

Whew! I've just spent the afternoon cleaning up my blog, putting things in order, dusting off some of those spiderwebs in the corners, placing a few new odds and ends on the shelf. Too bad my house doesn't get the same treatment!

What I did:

  • Used Blogger's new blogroll feature to spruce up the blogroll. Each blog now shows the latest post and date the blog was last updated. (Blogs are in order by most recent update.)
  • Deleted a few blogs from the blogroll and added a few blogs to the blogroll.*
  • Visited the blogs of "new" (ahem, within the past three months) commenters and said hello.**
What I didn't do:
  • Update my Alex Barton post or visit all the blogs listed there (I keep intending to)
  • Answer e-mail
  • Respond to comments

*The blogroll is there to reward my regular commenters. If you've commented at least once a month for the last two or three months and are not on the blogroll, let me know and I will add you. If you want to be on the blogroll, comment and keep commenting. If you haven't commented since April, I deleted you from blogroll.

**If you've left me a comment in the past and I've never visited your blog to say hi, I either missed you or your comment didn't come with a link to your blog. Leave me a comment now and I'll come by and say hi sometime within the next few months. I'm semi-polite like that.

  1. I’m intrigued … and curious about how much time you invested to make these Blogroll changes. I’m also wondering what it does to the speed of things on your blog, but I’ll watch with interest. I’ve been thinking about making changes to MY blogs once my new computer arrives and I get myself caught up. Seems to me YOU got a new computer a while back. As I catch up here gradually, perhaps I’ll get filled in about that … and everything else that’s been happening that you’ve shared here. Thanks for not giving up on me. I’ve missed the connection here. Hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend.

    Misery Marketing, yes. I should post an addendum. The blogroll rewards my commenters, except you -- who are there solely on the basis of your awesomeness.

    It also makes me think of the 5 minutes of Kung Fu Panda that I actually did get to see: "There is no charge for awesomeness or attractiveness." Your new tag line.

  12. blogroll is soo cool and very happy to be on there, i check in but comment far too little i'm sorry for that, must have been a huge amount of work, but i'm tempted to do the same it looks great.

    Wow, you have SO inspired me to put blogrolls back on my blog. Its a pretty cool new feature. Maybe one day... soon... in the future... after school term ends... and end of financial year is over... mmmmmm..........
