My Faith in Humankind is Renewed

I am proud to announce that today was the first day ever in the history of A Room of Mama's Own that visitors arriving here through Google searches for actual relevant content outnumbered visitors arriving here mistakenly looking for porn. Wow.

    YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy for you. You are reaching the audience you intended to reach, not the audience of ill people looking for a sick fix. Well, I mean proportionately. Your writing will seem even more exciting now that you are reaching a nicer group of folks.*

Google searches are the most f*#ked up random things. The googlebot makes very little sense to me. It gets harder and harder to find the information for which I am actually looking.

Go MPJ!!!!! Does it feel like you're having Mama's room redecorated? Upgrading from college posters on the wall, to framed prints, and a cute new couch from Ikea, instead of the ratty old lumpy futon?

*Disclaimer: I don't mean to say that all sex addicts aren't nice, but when they are not seeking treatment and are looking for incestuous porn, they are not ideal citizens. As for child molesters looking for that crap as described in your Oct. post, well, I am all for public castrations followed by hanging in the town square. I'm a liberal woman, but that stuff makes me long for medieval torture.

If you think the search terms which lead to your blog are bad, you should have a look at mine!

But congratulations on attracting a more salubrious readership and have loads of fun at your friend's wedding!

And for what it's worth, you all, I get a respectable number of visitors every day. But of those who wind up from Google searches, very close to 100% are looking for porn about incest.

Slutty, I really don't want to think about what kind of searches lead people to you! ;)

Actually I'm not too shocked by some of the sex terms which lead people to my blog. I've certainly never had anything as bad as incest although, with something like that, a lot of the people are probably (hopefully!) not acting on their fantasies.

I was rather amused today, though, by the search terms which follows. I almost felt sorry for the poor person who wrote that. Things don't seem to bode well for that relationship:

"having sleep [sic]together and having sex for the first time neither said much during breakfast"

  7. Well, we could be optimistic, Slutty, and assume they were in awe. ;)
