That's my Girl!

My daughter likes to have me sing to her each night at bedtime. Her most frequently requested tune is "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." However, last night she wanted me to sing her new favorite song: the theme from Speed Racer. (Did I mention that even before Peter Pan I was in love with that other adrenaline junky, Speed Racer?)

I was bubbling with delight as I sang her to sleep with lines like my favorite: "he's a demon and he's going to be chasing after someone." It was the most fun I've had since our trip to a museum to see dinosaurs.

  3. "And when the odds are against him
And there's dangerous work to do
You bet your life Speed Racer
    Will see it through."
never heard of him, but I could handle a speed racer right about now!
cheers to you and your merry kid!

  4. They've been showing previews for the new Speed Racer movie . . . live action, with John Goodman as Pops. Yeesh. Was Popeye the first horrible live-action movie based on a classic cartoon? Who keeps thinking this is a good idea? It makes me want to track down a DVD of the cartoon.

  5. I’m behind and doing some catching up today in Google Reader, but I had to stop and note that I’m sooooo happy my computer now lets me play these ‘clips’ without locking up as it used to. Clearing up mem’ry and running that McAfee ‘cleaner’ did the trick! How fun to be ‘in the loop’ knowing what’s ‘in’ … though I’m not sure about the lyric of this one as a lullaby. LOL Thanks for sharing ;--)
    Hugs and blessings,
